Predator Team helps SOS Mamas

Updated: 2 days ago

Two of our colleagues have helped in their spare time SOS Mamas, a charity in Palma.

We bought a house a few weeks ago in Puerto d'Andratx. Very nice location, the first floor is currently a restaurant, the two upper floor - apartments we are converting into two penthouse apartments. Fantastic view. Direct location in the first line. And still within walking distance in the village.

But Mallorca is not only luxury. Here it goes much more people economically bad than we can imagine in Germany. Not only because of the dependence on tourism and "thanks" to Corona. Also because of the much thinner social network than in other countries. Therefore, we have already started a few months ago charity projects and also founded the "Fundacio Predator", a charitable foundation, I'll write something about it soon!

We were sold the apartments in the property furnished. Normally we then sell the furniture. And what can't be sold is cleared out. Miguel Angel, our project engineer, had an idea: Why don't we donate the furniture? And then we clear out the rest as usual. Great idea! After Miguel Angel did some research, he got in touch with Ascen Maestre, the founder of SOS Mamas. She immediately had a few families in mind and they agreed to pick up the furniture on Saturday. But furniture doesn't just fly into the truck, it has to be transported through stairwells. And unfortunately there are not unlimited helping hands. So Miguel Angel and Pilar, our interior designer, decided to help in a very practical way.

Saturday at 10:00 am we started. And at 13:00 the truck was indeed full. And hopefully a few families could be helped. The team still has sore muscles today, but that should not be really harmful ;)

From me a big thank you to the two. I think it's great not only to "just" donate money, but to spend your own time and energy to do something good!

It is exactly this form of commitment that we are seeing more of here, thank goodness. Organizations like SOS Mamas, which was founded by the former intensive care nurse Ascen Maestre, now help over 10,000 people to make ends meet. And we were impressed by the dedication of the founder and her husband on Saturday!

My request to you: Help us too! We will also support SOS Mamas as a company in the future. If you would like to participate, please do so directly or contact me! Here the help does not seep away, but it arrives where it is really needed!
