Merry Christmas 2022!
My Christmas greetings to our partners, to all customers. To all suppliers. And to everyone who would like to read it. With a brief summary of 2022 and an outlook for 2023 …
My Christmas greetings 2022
2022 was a great year for us. Very busy, and above all for me shaped by the increasingly solid realization that in a small company you simply have to be able to do everything.
It was also a special year for the team; we definitely had highs, lows and changes, but I think we’ve now arrived at a really good place where I can see—and am truly happy—that the cohesion among colleagues is really great. And the sense of responsibility towards the company and its customers has developed fantastically. At this point, a big thank you to you—you rock!
I’ve also had to think about where we actually want to orient ourselves. We have around 20 projects in the pipeline. In terms of manpower, we can really handle 4 … That raises the question: scale up? Or stay smaller? I haven’t fully answered that for myself yet. But what I have learned is that it’s incredibly important that the team functions well internally. And we will simply make further growth dependent on all of us feeling comfortable with new team members.
In 2022 we completed the 8 Molinar Townhouses. The planned move-in date for our happy tenants was 1 July, and they moved in on 1.07. I think we were all a little proud of that. From a technical perspective, there were actually relatively few significant items to rectify. We had difficulties with the microcement, but the provider has promised to redo the bathrooms. Otherwise, I was really satisfied with the quality of the executing company Islabau!
In July we also restarted the holiday rental under our brand portixolholidays.com. And it got off to a fantastic start. Our terraced houses on Calle Segura were rented out super quickly. And, to my surprise, our largest customer group became Americans.
Since then we’ve been able to welcome many great new guests and, together with Islabau, have launched several projects to be able to offer two houses in Portixol on the first sea line in 2023, and in Molinar a huge house with a large garden and pool …
In the holiday rental area, Mireia has been helping me for about half a year and has now become a real mainstay there—many thanks at this point!

Since last year we’ve also been building the two penthouses in Cala Mayor and are at about 50% construction progress. An architect had taken over the planning for me here. Short version: We’re doing it ourselves again …
The project on the first sea line has been going well so far: la13. A beautiful apartment is being created there, wonderfully designed by my colleague Elena! I think we’ll be finished there by the middle of next year and you could move in 🙂 Interested? Simply add your name without obligation to the interested parties list on the project page.
Our large project with 4 villas in Son Vida has been going very well so far. Jaime Salva is planning and developing it for us. Extremely professional so far. I will report on further developments!
Our townhouse on the first sea line elMar has finally received the building permit after 4 years. That means we can now get started with construction. The architect here is Magi Marques, with whom I already built the Molinar Townhouses very successfully and I’m looking forward to working together again!
Since I’m noticing that I may have taken on a bit too much, I’ve decided to create the new position of “super assistant”. By that I basically mean that I’d like to bring in a “right-hand person”. To that end I wrote a very personal job posting and I was incredibly happy to receive a lot of positive feedback for it. And great applications!
Last but not least, what didn’t go well? We actually wanted to “do good”. For that, at the end of last year I founded the Fundació Predator. The goal is to expand help. Meaning: We want to support organizations or people who are already successfully helping others, but lack the resources to make more of it. Essentially a somewhat entrepreneurial form of charity. My only problem is: I can’t find any projects in Mallorca. If you have ideas, write to me. Or write your ideas in the comments.
When the Ukraine war started, the colleagues at NBB.COM asked their community where they should help. There was a budget of—I think—250,000 euros, and it was to be distributed as sensibly and helpfully as possible. That worked extremely well back then. Maybe you can help me to help in Mallorca?
Then there’s really only one thing left for me to do: wish you relaxing and contemplative holidays! A good slide into the new year. Stay healthy. It’s a cliché wish, but it’s justified …
